Noah

Like my civic blog, I want to change it up a little bit for my last passion blog. Throughout this year, I have been posting movies I have watched from years past. Today I want to discuss about a film I have not seen yet. “Noah” is a movie that came out on March 28, 2014 and I will definitely want to watch it once I am done with this semester. The name probably reminds a lot of people of what the movie might be about: the building of an Ark. Yes, the movie (after watching the trailer) is about the biblical event of the Great Flood, where God destroyed all of humanity, except pairs of animals and Noah’s family, to start the world anew because He thought humans became corrupt. I know for sure you’d see a man and his family building a giant boat with all the animals of the world coming to him and ending in everyone dying but light will shine upon earth once again as mankind gets a second chance. It may seem like a predictable story, but here are my reasons for being so fascinated by this movie.

The movie has Emma Watson in it! Although not a crazy-lover of Harry Potter, but I did watch every movie of that series and Emma Watson can definitely be one of my favorite actresses. One of course attributes to her acting and my other reason is because she is just BEAUTIFUL! Anyways, Watson has been in multiple movies outside of her childhood cast, such as “The Perks of being a Wallflower” and “This is The End” (both are great movie), but the numbers still remain few. People don’t see her in context of other characters are other than Hermione. So through this new film, fans can see her act out a different personality, which furthers he credentials as an actress. I personally feel like her acting in this movie will be awesome.

Another reason I’d like to watch this film is because of another actor: Russel Crowe. Crowe is the man! I loved a lot of his movies, such as the “Gladiator” and “Le Mis.” The characters simply in these two films are totally different, with the first being a tough Roman General and the other being a singing French policeman. He almost fits the role of anyone, and I think he can play a determined follower of a wrathful God pretty well too.

Finally, the last reason I’d watch this film is due to the development of cinema in the past few years. People have created very realistic effects and sounds that make viewers really feel like they are at the scene. I just want to experience the sensual effects of getting flooded down by a THE Flood.

Other notable actors/actresses in this movie are Anthony Hopkins (who played Odin in Thor) and Jennifer Connelly. The film received a 6.5/10 on IMDB and 77% on Rotten Tomatoes. So overall it’s not one of those top films ever created, but it’s still a pretty awesome film. Plus, critics are only critics; you may have different views on it. Here’s the trailer.
